Pass it on‏

1 Corinthians 11: 23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
The things that Jesus does this week have crucial significance for our lives from this point on.  In the Gospel  of St. John we read of the great teachings of Jesus to his disciples. In each of the gospels his crucifixion and death are recorded. And though we are separated by time and culture and all we call modern life we still have access to what Jesus did through the sacrament which the apostle received and handed down to the Church.
In Holy Communion, all the distance that separates us from God’s Son is washed away. It’s like a window that has been opened to grace and truth. Come and celebrate his last supper with the disciples.
Keep the new commandment : to love one another just as he loved us.
